Neighborhood overviewHamilton is a vibrant city in the midst of a Renaissance, and The Benninghofen House is right in the heart of it all. Well into a multi-year plan to reinvent itself, the progress in Hamilton is apparent. In addition to a weekly farmer's market around the courthouse (summer months), the monthly Hamilton Flea at Marcum Park (summer months), and Operation Pumpkin in the Fall, the city has wonderful concerts at the River's Edge concert venue (10-min walk) during the Summer months. There is also an extensive bike path along the river.
Add to the mix a growing list restaurants, breweries, and specialty shops, and Hamilton is a surprising delight. With the arrival of Spooky Nook Sports, new restaurants, shops, and nightlife are popping up everywhere.
We are The City of Sculpture and sculptures and murals can be found all around the city. Additionally Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park is close by.
The downtown area is a DORA (downtown outdoor refreshment area) so drinks can be taken to-go as you explore the city, parks, or walk along the river.
To balance out all that DORA fun, we offer some of the best tasting drinking water in the world to keep you hydrated. Be sure to try some of our award-winning water while you are here. :)
Dayton Lane (the neighborhood where The Benninghofen House is located) is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is filled with grand homes built in the Victorian era when Hamilton was a leading manufacturing city.
